The lives of Enoch Powell

Enoch Powell is most known for his "Rivers of Blood" speech This has made him notably one of the most revered, but also one of the most reviled speakers in British history. Here he is condemmed by some to be racist. In this book Patrick Cosgrave certainly unveils the astonishing personality of Enoch Powell. Enoch Powell, who served as a private in World War II,  who later became a British Politician,  and was then awarded an MBE by the Queen. Cosgrave paints this man as a man of dignity. However, Cosgrave doesn't shy away from the fact that Powell created some enemies too. At Powell's height, he gained up to 82% popularity. In Powell's later political career, he represented Northern Ireland in Westminister. It could be said that Enoch Powell had many lives as he acheived so much in his life. Here is a quote from Mr. Powell:
"What I take racialist to mean is a person who believes in the inherent inferiority of one race of mankind to another, and who acts and speaks in that belief. So the answer to the question of whether I am a racialist is no--unless, perhaps, it is to be a racialist in reverse."
